Cheryl Dilcher - Special Songs

This is very beautiful folkrock from a American female singer-songwriter. Her second album Butterfly may be more known than this. This is a great and I think a quite unknown album that should be more known. With no doubt. I love this and so you should do it too! Most beauttiful piece on this is "Do I Have To Wait It Very Long". Love to this one.

Lindy Michaels - Ragamuffin Child (1968 Vault)

One of the most interesting of those most obscure albums I have managed to find till now.
Can't say anything negative of these fascinating "lullabys". You can find here Leonard Cohen with Susanne, Paul Simon and Cloudy, Lennon McC's Herte there and Ewerywhere and J. Fuller's San Francisco Bay Blues. What might been the future of Lindy after this. It would be interesting to here... Thanks for this, Linda. Hope you had a good life!

Two Friends - Same (1972 Natural Recources)

Can't find much info of this on the net. Two friends, Chip Carpenter and Bucky Wiener play their own composings accompanied by eight co-mucisians. Violin and cello are to be heard among other more ordinary instruments. The vocalist sounds occasionally like Neil Young. The music is some kind of country-folk-rock. Nice songs but nothing above average. I like to listen to this anyway.

Michael Perlitch - Keyboard Tales (1972 Atlantic)

Quite unknown organ driven album. Michael Perlitch plays most of the instruments on the album by himself. Is he America's Michael Oldfield? Maybe not quite... Some may think that he is even more. Maybe. The music is very listenable and if compared to Oldfield's Bells, which I know quite well I think this is very freshly different. The year 1972 may have been same for composing both. How come they have not known each others? I mean Michaels P and O. Perlitch seems to have returned to music again on 2000's and this album is available on CD too. To be honest, most of the pianist-organists on rock era are quite medicore. There is no exeption with these two Michaels. Rock is rock and the real pianists-keyboardists can be found on some other era. You know?

Roxy - Roxy (1970 Elektra)

Best part of this is vocalists voice. Otherwise the music is quite medicore poprock of it's time. Some members of this were before this in a group named The Glitterhouse. I try to find it here next.

Bethlehem Asylum - Same (1971 Ampex)

I like this mellow jazzy southern rock. I'm not sure if southern rock is quite right definition to this music. Especially because of the side two, which is very jazzy. My favourite piece is 14 minutes long, zappaish Tales From The Citadel.

Jan & Lorraine - Gypsy People (1969 ABC)

Well produced and very nice progresssive psychfolk from year 1969. TRecorded in London with help of some British session musicians like Keshav Sathe (Cosmic Eye, Magic Carpet), Terry Cox (Pentangle, Tudor Lodge), Clem Cattini (Joe Cocker) and Brian Odgers (John Mc Laughlin).

Myrth - Myrth (1969 RCA)

Brass rock group Myrth came from nowhere, made this one and faded away. The music is jazz-rock with a psychedelic touch. Very listenable. In fact I like this quite a lot.

Sir Lord Baltimore - Kingdom Come (1970 Mercury)

Eclection - Eclection (1968 Elektra)

Lovely folk-psych-pop. Music is mixed Californian flower pop and Norwegian-Finnish? folk. Compositions are by Norwegian Georg Hultgreen who's real name is Georg Kajanus and who's grandfather was Robert Kajanus, a well known Finnish composer and close friend of Sibelius. Album is published in New York but there is yet no american member in the group. The members of the group are from Canada, Britain, Australia and Norway. So, very international backgroung this group has.

Sugar Loaf - Same (1970 Liberty)

Very fine but unfortunately underrated album and group. Music is organ (Jerry Corbetta) and guitar Bob Webber) driven progressive, jazzy psychrock. Real sounds and some zappaish flavour in tunes makes this album of my favourites. Sugar Loaf came from Colorado and was also known as Chocolate hair.
